Welcome to Intervention Marshals UK

In line with the new racing season, Intervention Marshals UK (IVMUK) is pleased to announce some exciting developments. IVMUK is currently undergoing a relaunch which will focus on enhancing the development and training of marshals by working closely alongside current clubs and other organisations. This will be alongside the current training system in the MSA structure. We are not looking to replace any of the already excellent existing programmes, but rather provide additional opportunities for marshals.

As part of the relaunch, the IVMUK steering group had an extremely productive and positive meeting with executive members of the British Motorsport Marshals Club (BMMC) – the club which has the largest membership of marshals in the country – in a bid to form a partnership which would benefit everyone. IVMUK is keen to forge new and lasting relationships and working with its partners to achieve its goals.

IVMUK is working on two new projects. The first is a ‘New Marshals Headstart Course’. This is not intended to replace any current ‘Taster day’ schemes currently in place, but instead, to provide an additional guide to marshalling for new marshals.

Secondly, IVMUK is in the process of setting up a British Heart Foundation Heartstart course. The course teaches basic emergency life support skills such as assessing an unconscious patient and dealing with bleeding. Not only will this be beneficial to marshals, but also to the local community who will also be able to take advantage of the scheme.

As part of the new and exciting relaunch of IVMUK, we are always looking for enthusiastic marshals to join and help develop our programmes.
